Current AI-healthcare research that are being explored globally:

 

1. ​AI is transforming diagnostics by interpreting medical images like X-rays and CT scans with specialist-level accuracy. It is also capable of analyzing large amounts of patient data, which allows it to spot patterns early and reduce the diagnostic workloads of clinicians!

2. AI tools have the potential to speed up drug discovery processes by analyzing huge chemical and biological datasets more efficiently. For example, one study used a “cascade transfer learning” approach, which is a deep learning model that gathers data on general chemical compounds, to identify promising, high-efficacy drug compounds that may help treat SARS-Cov-2.

3. Natural language processing systems can ease clinical workloads by automatically generating medical notes and transcribing patient visits. They can also provide decision-support suggestions that help clinicians diagnose and plan treatments more efficiently.
